Chesapeake Year 2027

From the Bay to the Barrier Islands

$35 · signed and numbered by hand

Twelve photographs from six years on the Chesapeake Bay and its barrier islands. There are 150, and there will be no reprint.

The story

A year of the Chesapeake

I grew up on this water, and I have spent most of my life photographing it: from a kayak, from a boat, from under the surface, and lately from the air. The pictures in this calendar were made over six years, on the Bay itself and along the seaside marshes and barrier islands that share its weather and its birds.

Two pages come from the Carolina sounds, where the Bay's swans spend part of the winter. The place and date of every photograph are printed under it.

— Bill Mish, Annapolis
