Trawling for Shrimp
In the hush of a foggy March morning off the coast of Georgia, this shrimp trawler emerged like a ghost from the mist — nets outstretched, gulls circling, and the steady rhythm of waves lapping against its hull. It was a scene that felt suspended in time.

I was aboard a small boat with my friend and fellow photographer Jay Fleming, en route to photograph another trawler that had run aground. But this unexpected encounter stopped us in our tracks. As the fog curled around us and the air filled with the calls of seabirds, this moment brought the enduring spirit of the Southern watermen into sharp focus.

Shot with a wide-angle lens, the image pulls you into the heart of the scene — not just as an observer, but as if you’re right there on the water. It’s a tribute to the tradition, resilience, and quiet beauty of those who make their living from the sea.

Available in a variety of fine art sizes and finishes — perfect for coastal homes, collectors of maritime heritage, or anyone who finds peace in the rhythm of the working waterfront.

Framing is shown for display purposes. Pictures do not come framed. Pictures are unframed and professionally printed to fit standard frame sizes.
